Who am I

When you where young maybe around kindergarten age or preschool age. Do you remember the riddles they'd give you. The who am I riddles? I do I used to always guess but little did I realize I'd ask myself the question on who am I? Have you ever wanted to speak in public but never had the guts to do so? Yeah I feel you. I've had my times of giving a speech in bible study of usually my presentation of what I learned for that whole year. I never could stop saying um, but in that since I had the anxiety of speaking in public. I was introverted. Knowing now that I'm in my prime of life I know that I can speak in front of people. Just being that person in the back of the classroom and being called on by a teacher that you never know what they're about to ask you is a little hard. Some of my readers most likely are highschool age I'm guessing. (Comment if your a middle school kid)
Have you ever heard that song if I just lay here by burning orchid? It has the chorus that says if I lay here if I just ly here would you lie with me and just forget the world. Some of you might say what does this have to deal with who am I? Well idk.....
Everyone who at least meets a person now days labels others but doesn't dare label themselves. But that moment when you stand at your mirror everyday you think about what are the kids at school going to say about my face or my makeup or clothes. Image is everything now days.
Ask yourself who am I and once you get an answer it might surprise you. I prayed one day and I asked God who am I. I kept asking. Fianally God replied. He said.... You are unique and yourself but your my child.
After that moment I knew that I had to be myself.
Teens listen closely...
When your down and depressed. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask who am I?
If you attend a youth group on Wednesday ask your youth pastor to help you on your situation. It may shock you to ask for help.

Don't stop

Okay.......
You probably stop.....
Like so......

Okay I'll stop and continue.
When you want to stop something and come back to it later you want to stop for good.
If you where in Sunday school as a kid then you probably remember the story of Jonah and the whale.
And the song Joshua fought the battle of Jericho.
But Jonah wanted to stop what they where told to do
And Joshua's soldiers wanted to stop marching.

Don't stop:
1: Being a good person
2: loving others
3: If you love God never stop loving him because he is eternal.

Joshua's story is very interesting
“Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.” So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.” And he ordered the army, “Advance! March around the city, with an armed guard going ahead of the ark of the Lord.” When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the Lord went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant followed them.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭6:1-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Don't ya think they got tired and wanted to stop?

Jonah wanted to stop when he heard that he had to go to Nineveh!
So he got swallowed by the whale. But that didn't quite change his mind. He suffered from heat but yet God provided a plant to shade him but then God put a plant eating bug to teach Jonah. Jonah went to Nineveh.

Don't stop. Keep trying
Weather it's life your tiered of or if it's your job or relationship. Don't stop. Never quit life. Never quit your job if it's a great one. Never quit your relationship if it's a great one but if bad then get away.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who is my strength

Jesus is eternal

What do you think about this?
Let me ask a question...
If you had 1 million dollars what would you do?
Would you buy the latest clothes or the new Apple iPad? Or the new televisions that have come out? What about a selfie stick? Or a new car? What about anything you wanted?

But what about God? What about Jesus? Why do we put idols in front of our Heavenly Father?

When I mean idols I mean everyday objects!

What about eternal life? That's something that you can keep forever!

Jesus died because he loves you. He didn't stretch those arms for nothing!
Have you asked yourself where you'll go when you die? Maybe you think you'll go to heaven just by being good? No!

Here's a bible verse for that
“As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/mrk.10.17.niv

Jesus replied
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’ ””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:17-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/mrk.10.17-19.niv
““Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:20-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

To my brother or sister in Christ

Wherever you are you probably wonder what others think about what you wear or what you think about them.
I'm one of these people. I bet you are too because that's life

Now.... If we stop thinking of what people say maybe we could find out what God thinks about us

There is a bible verse on criticism that you should check out.

“Now the Philistines fought against Israel; the Israelites fled before them, and many fell dead on Mount Gilboa. The Philistines were in hot pursuit of Saul and his sons, and they killed his sons Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki-Shua. The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically.”
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭31:1-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/1sa.31.1-3.niv

If you think positive on what people think about you instead of negativity then you would be less stressed

“So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Being who we are in Christ not the world

What do you think about your heart? Not your beating heart but your spiritual heart,

On a scale of 1-10 rate how you feel

1: :) I've got it all together no worries
2: :} My emotions are happy but have little worry
3: :] I'm a little happy getting nervous with you asking questions
4: :/ I'm confused why are you asking
5: :| I'm getting a little worried
6: :( maybe I need some cheering up
7: :,( I'm sad
8: :,,,( I'm crying a river
9: X,,,( leave me alone I don't want help
10: =,,,C I'm done with my life I'm having a midlife crisis!

Why would you be 1 or 10? Or how about 9?

We need help from Jesus. Maybe because we need him more than ourselves.
Why do we need someone who is in heaven (Jesus) to help us?

“Come quickly to help me, my Lord and my Savior.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭38:22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I have yet another challenge for you
When thinking about how you feel write them down.

First love

I know teens are in love these days. I know. Maybe you have a BF or a GF at your school. Or  in youth group. Maybe their your friend or next door neighbor. Or if you have a crush on someone who you want to be your bae. Life is full of uncertainties and we don't know who we will end up with or who we will date. God does. Is your current boyfriend or girlfriend your "first love"?

What about Jesus? He's always been there since you were even thought about by your parents. He knows every hair and bones, teeth, lifespan, toes, your eye color, your height, etc. he knows who you are. And he loves you. Idk if you ever prayed that child hood prayer before bed
"Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the lord my soul to keep. He loves me both day and night and even when I wake up in the morning light. If I should die before I wake my soul is for the lord to take. Amen"
Do you remember?

Or what about that food prayer
"Dear God thank you for this meal I revived and thank you for the sun to grow the plants which the seeds have sewn. Amen"

Or something similar
Do you remember?

But when we got older did we forget about God or did we just go in and did it our own way?

Jesus loves you. He always has for he will never leave you alone in your hardest moments.

I think as I write this blog I can relate to teenage pressure.

My personal story is amazing.

I recently realized that anxiety is a hard time in life. We all have it.
Praying is wonderful to solve problems with yourself.
And I realized that we should wait on the lord to bring us our wife or husband.
If you're a dude you might go after the ladies because of their bodies or pretty makeupy faces. When really you need to go after their heart.
Ladies if you read this blog every day after school or after I post you probably need to check out this blog I wrote

http://missjsmodestyblog.blogspot.com/

It's great but I'm working on it.
Don't let the men come to you meet them in the middle. The bible says that we love
“We love because he first loved us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/1jn.4.19.niv

On modesty and what to wear
“I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
http://bible.com/111/1ti.2.9.niv

My question is that do you remember the book of Esther?
What about queen vashti ?

Or what about Jezebel? In revalation

Those two women were self centered in theirselves than being in love with God.

What will you choose to be self centered or go with your first love (God)?
